I Long for God’s Eternal Spring – Graphic Print

COMMENTARY

I was sitting in First United Methodist church in Lexington Kentucky one Sunday morning when this thought ran through my mind.  I Long for God’s Eternal Spring.  Before me was opened a panorama of fragrant flowers arranged in the most beautiful array of colors.  In heaven there is an eternal springtime.  There are always flowers in abundance to be enjoyed by saints and angels alike.  I cannot imagine sweeter rest than depicted in these lines.

I’ll take my walk on holy ground,

And sniff the fragrant air;

And sweet recline beside the brook,

Of waters crystal fair.

We may not be in heaven yet, but it certainly is a blessing to dream and imagine the incredible beauty of a place where there will be no crying, sorrow or pain.  Lord Jesus, comfort the hearts of the saints with these words.  Amen!
