COMMENTARY

This is the second of my wedding poems.  There are some people who cannot believe that God’s grace would be so deep and loving that after years of tears and sorrow, He would bring them together before an altar of prayer and consecration.  Can God truly restore the lost years of the Christian’s life?  Indeed we can begin at the point of God’s command.  We can know that

Heaven’s choice is higher still,

Than man can think or know;

So by His will and sprinkled love,

Together we shall grow.

And share our lives by strength of God,

To glorify His Son;

And as we pledge our sacred trust,

Two streams now flow as one.
